If you enjoy a tipple then a trip to Highland Perthshire would not be complete without a visit to Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery.

Founded in 1896 by John Dewar & Sons, it officially began whisky production in 1898 and is the only distillery built by the Dewar family.  Drawing water from the Pitilie Burn – because all good whisky needs a good water source – the historic distillery produces the single malt whisky at the heart of Dewar’s blended scotch.

Visitors to Dewar’s Aberfeldy can tour the working distillery to see how famous single malts like the Aberfeldy 12 year old are produced.  The award-winning heritage exhibition is filled with artifacts and interactive presentations telling the story of the Dewar’s family and their pursuit of the perfect dram.  After learning about the history, guests can relax and wet their whistle in the Whisky Lounge and Cafe.

There are a range of experience options available to visitors to the distillery, from a guided tasting tour to a blending tour, where guests can create their own blend to take home.

Guests of Brae House B&B can receive a 30% discount on the Aberfeldy Cask Tasting Tour or the Whisky and Chocolate Tasting Tour.  If you are staying with us and plan on doing one of these tours, let us know at booking or check-in and we can help you arrange it.
